I bought this lamp from IKEA and love it! The problem....I spilled a glass of red wine on the shade. I know this seems impossible, but I assure you it is not. So instead of buying a new shade I took this as an opportunity to get CREATIVE!
I love this lamp and the clear glass on the bottom. I bought it for $19.99 at IKEA. WHAT A STEAL. I do love the revamped version though. SO FUN.
I started with the lamp shade. I cleaned the stain as much as possible and cleaned the rest of the shade. I found an old tshirt in my "goodwill" bin and got to work. The shirt had a beautiful lace trim on it so I cut that off and used it to cover the thick seam. After the fabric was glued (zip dry glue) to the shade I used gray jersey to make the flowers. I also used buttons and glued on some other accents. After the front was done I used black binding on the back to cover the seam and make everything look sharp. I promise this was EASY! The hardest part was getting everything to line up so that you don't see a lot of seams when the light is on.
I am very happy with the finished project and hope you all find this fun!
